Bidjar is a city of noth western Iran famous for the sturdiness of its rugs.
This rug is unusually big for being a vaghireh and it is almost a "sedjadè" (Persian size of about 4' x 6'). Colours are harmonious and warm.
A rhomboid central medallion with a stylized flower ad one of its edges dominates the tobacco field. The repetitive motive of the medallion is taken up again on the two top corners.
The border is based on a wide herati pattern on two sides. The other two are a very narrow frame decorated with three different motives. It is clear the intention of proposing different alternatives to the final carpet weaver
